Honestly, the magic happens in those first 24 hours. I use my own homemade henna cones, which are completely chemical-free. If you want that deep, rich maroon result, you have to keep the paste on for a minimum of 6 hours, no shortcuts. I always tell my brides: patience is the main ingredient for the best stain. ### Why Homemade Henna Matters I am a bit obsessive about my cones. I mix them myself, specifically to avoid the harsh chemicals often found in store-bought options. This means you get a natural, deep maroon color, not that fake black or patchy orange. My goal is a stain that looks rich from the moment you peel it off. ### The Stain Lifecycle When you see the photos here, notice how the color evolves: * **Fresh Application:** The paste is dark and sharp. * **Peel Off:** You will see that initial vibrant orange/red. * **24 Hours Later:** This is when the oxidation happens. With my blend, this is when that deep maroon, almost chocolatey tone settles in. ### Pro-Tips for a Darker Stain 1. **Keep it warm:** Henna loves heat. After I apply it, try to keep your hands warm. 2. **Avoid water:** Try not to get your hands wet for at least 8 to 10 hours post-removal. Water stops the oxidation process. 3. **The Jugaad:** Some old-school remedies like clove steam really work. I will share more specific tips when I am at your place for the booking.
