For bridal looks, I often use a mix of lotus motifs and scalloped borders to frame the ankles, while keeping the toe areas detailed. If you are planning this for your wedding, keep in mind that feet designs take longer to set because of the skin texture, so ensure you have enough time set aside for application and drying. ### My Approach to Foot Henna My approach focuses on balance and symmetry. For weddings, I prefer a dense 'Bharwa' style with intricate jaal and lotus motifs, as these look stunning in wedding photography and provide that classic bridal feel. If you are opting for a festive look or a smaller event, I recommend Arabic vines or a central mandala, which looks elegant without being overwhelming. ### Preparation and Aftercare To ensure your feet henna comes out with a rich, dark stain, here are a few practical tips: * **Keep it bare:** Once I apply the sealant, try to keep your feet bare for a few hours. Wearing socks or tight shoes right after application will smudge the lines and negatively affect how the colour develops. * **The stain process:** Foot skin is thicker than the skin on your hands, so the stain often takes a bit longer to darken. I recommend leaving the henna on for at least 6 to 8 hours. * **Post-removal:** Avoid washing the area with soap immediately after you scrape off the dried henna. Stick to warm water for the first wash to help the colour deepen naturally over the next 24 hours.
