The magic is in the mix. I use a homemade, triple-sifted paste with essential oils that naturally deepens to that rich maroon you see in my gallery. When I finish, I apply a lemon-sugar sealant spray to lock it all in. That is the real secret to a stain that lasts. A deep, dark stain is the ultimate goal for any henna lover. I do not use store-bought cones with harsh chemicals. My paste is 100% natural, mixed with essential oils, which react with your body heat to create that signature rich red. After I apply the mehendi, keep it on for at least 6 to 8 hours. Avoid water for the first 24 hours. The color deepens over the next 48 hours, so do not worry if it looks light when I first wash it off.
