Because I mix my henna fresh in small batches right here in Bangalore, the stain matures from a vibrant orange to a deep, dark maroon within 48 hours. If you're planning for a wedding or an event, keep this timeframe in mind so your color peaks exactly when you need it to. ### Why Freshness Matters for Your Stain Many people worry about henna that doesn't stain well or fades too quickly. That’s usually down to the preservatives and chemicals found in mass-produced, shelf-stable cones. When I make my henna, I use triple-sifted organic Sojat powder and specific essential oils like lavender and cajeput.
