Many clients underestimate the importance of stage blocking, but if your venue is a crowded hotel ballroom versus an open-air stage, that changes how I position your group. I also handle the technical editing of your music mix so transitions are seamless, which means you do not have to worry about the DJ missing a cue or a long gap during your performance. People often see a flawless group dance and think it happened overnight. My work is actually about managing the chaos of rehearsals to make sure the final result looks effortless. ### My Approach to Group Choreography To make a large group look professional, I focus on 'levels and canons.' I use staggered heights—having some dancers sit, some stand, and others on platforms—to create depth. This prevents the performance from looking flat. I also break groups into smaller units for learning. It is much easier for a family member or a corporate employee to learn a 30-second sequence than to memorize an entire four-minute song in one go. Once we have those units, we layer the movements for a cohesive final effect. ### Why Planning Matters I define my work by what I can control. Weather, audience reaction, or sudden venue changes are often out of our hands, but the quality of the choreography and the precision of the music edits are things I manage strictly. Whether you are booking a Sangeet package in Mumbai or a larger production, my process remains the same: 1. **Concept & Budgeting:** We define the vision before the first step is taught. 2. **Music Editing:** I ensure your tracks are mixed to match the energy of the dance. 3. **Technical Checks:** I review stage marking to guide positioning. 4. **Supervision:** I am on-site to cue the music and handle the sequence flow. I treat every stage like a canvas. My goal is to deliver more than you expected, ensuring that when the music starts, you can simply enjoy the moment. ## About Megha Sampat Kini I am Megha.
