You need someone who understands rhythm, not just camera settings. We will coordinate on location scouting and timing—usually during golden hour—to get that specific, soft light that makes fabric textures and traditional mudras pop. Dance photography is a conversation between the body, the light, and the camera. Kathak, in particular, requires an eye for detail. Whether you are holding a pose or mid-spin, my job is to capture the intentionality behind your movement. ### Why the setting matters For dance portraits, the environment should complement the rhythm, not distract from it. I prefer working in natural, rustic locations around Mumbai—old stone ruins, forest paths, or quiet clearings. These settings provide the texture and earthy tones that ground the ethereal nature of Kathak. By utilizing the Canon R6 Mark II, I can maintain high-resolution sharpness even when you are in motion, ensuring the intricate details of your silver bangles, makeup, and expressions are crystal clear. ### My approach to your session * **Collaboration:** We will discuss your performance style and outfits before the shoot. If you have a specific piece or narrative you want to convey, let's plan the framing around that. * **Lighting:** I focus on natural light, often working during the golden hour to get that soft, dramatic glow. We will use shadows and angles to highlight your form. * **Posing Direction:** You do not need to be a professional model. I provide direction on angles that suit your face and body structure to make sure the movement looks fluid and graceful in the final image. ### Planning your shoot I typically deliver your high-end retouched images within 5 to 7 days. This allows us to plan your session around your busy performance schedule.
