We often recommend Kota stone flooring for our pet-friendly projects, and there is a practical reason for it. Unlike polished tiles that can get slippery or hot, Kota stone stays naturally cool and provides excellent grip for active dogs and cats. It is a durable, simple choice that handles daily wear and tear well, ensuring your floors remain beautiful even with furry friends running around. Building a home that works for both people and pets goes beyond just choosing the right floor. At Masons Ink, our design process for pet-inclusive spaces starts with understanding how your pets move and live within your home. ### Why Natural Materials Matter We prioritize non-toxic, natural materials like lime plaster and unsealed stone. These materials do not trap harsh chemicals or synthetic odors, creating a healthier environment for your pets. When we design for clients like the team at 'Doggiliciouus', we look for ways to maximize airflow through natural ventilation. This keeps the home comfortable, especially during Bengaluru's warmer months, reducing the need for constant air conditioning and keeping your pets cool. ### Design Features for Furry Friends * **Cooling Surfaces:** We incorporate Kota stone or oxide flooring, which are fantastic for thermal regulation. * **Safe Transitions:** We avoid sharp edges in our layouts and focus on open, free-flowing floor plans that allow pets to roam without obstruction. * **Nooks and Spaces:** Rather than designated 'pet areas' that feel isolated, we integrate cozy nooks directly into the living space, ensuring your pets stay connected to the family. We love the challenge of 'The Brick Loft' project, where we blended exposed brickwork with double-height windows. This not only created a bright, airy aesthetic for the owners but also provided ample sunlit spots for nap times, proving that sustainable architecture can be deeply personal and functional for everyone under one roof. ## About Masons Ink We are Masons Ink, and we believe a house doesn't truly breathe until everyone is happy—especially the furry ones. Our designs focus on sustainable, natural materials that keep homes cool for pets and owners alike, creating spaces that are meant for living, not just looking at.
