Many couples struggle because they rely on assumptions, expecting their partner to inherently understand their needs without verbalizing them. A successful marriage is not built on mind reading, but on the ability to have difficult, honest conversations about your fears, boundaries, and expectations from day one. Marriage is not just a union of two people. It is a continuous effort to align two different lives. Through my years of experience as a matchmaker, I have observed that the most common reason for early marital friction is not a lack of love, but a lack of communication. ### Setting Expectations Early Many individuals enter marriage with an idealized version of their partner. They hope their spouse will naturally align with their lifestyle or automatically understand their unspoken emotional needs. When these invisible expectations are not met, disappointment follows. It is crucial to have open discussions about finances, daily habits, and family involvement both before and after marriage. ### Handling Conflict Arguments are normal.
