Because I use traditional fabric-based techniques and mirror work, these pieces require gentle care. They are not waterproof and should be kept away from damp areas, so a light dusting is all they need to stay as vibrant as the day you brought them home. My work starts with a simple idea: festivals in India are about feelings, not just visuals. Whether it is a heavy velvet Bandhanwar for your main door or a small dry fruit potli, I look for a balance between traditional aesthetics and utility. My studio in Kamla Nagar is where these designs come to life, often using Gota Patti, mirror work, and rich fabrics like silk and brocade. I do not just put things together in a box. When I design a festive hamper, I think about how it will look in your home. My serveware, like the silver-plated platters or hammered metal bowls, is designed to be sturdy enough for dry snacks while looking like a centerpiece. If you are planning a wedding or a corporate Diwali event, I handle everything from the initial theme to the final packaging. I work with materials like iron and aluminium alloy, ensuring they have a good weight and feel. You are not buying a mass-produced item. You are getting something that has been stitched, glued, and finished by hand, which means every piece has its own tiny variations. That is exactly where the charm lies. ## About Marit Decor I am Rajan, and Marit Decor is my way of keeping traditions alive.
