I use simple A4 bond paper and a standard black chisel-tip marker for all these sketches. The trick is to stop worrying about perfection and start focusing on basic shapes like U-shapes and V-shapes. By building the face structure first, you create a foundation where you can safely exaggerate eyes, noses, and mouths without losing the character's personality. If your first few sketches look messy, that is exactly where the learning happens. ### How to Start Sketching Expressions Caricature art is all about the 'wow' factor, but getting there takes practice. My tutorials are designed to remove the fear of the blank page. **What you will learn in these lessons:** * **Feature Exaggeration:** I show you how to take a normal nose or eye and push the proportions. We look at why a bulbous nose or thin lips change the entire mood of a drawing. * **Expression Building:** Emotions are just a shift in the eyebrows and mouth. I provide reference sheets that help you transition a character from a simple smile to an exaggerated laugh or a surprise expression. * **From Pencil to Ink:** You will see the full process, from the initial, light pencil sketches to the final, bold marker lines. This helps you understand when to commit to a stroke and how to keep your hand steady. ### Why Choose Marker Art? I stick to markers because they teach you confidence. You cannot erase a permanent marker stroke, which forces you to be deliberate and quick. This 'no-undo' approach is the fastest way to improve your hand-eye coordination. Whether you are trying to capture a funny face or a specific mood, the goal is to make art that feels alive. If you want a more guided approach, I offer 1-on-1 video coaching sessions via Zoom or WhatsApp. In these 60-minute sessions, we do a live sketch, and I can give you real-time feedback on your line weight and facial proportions. It is just like sitting next to me while we draw together. Let’s start sketching—practice, bas! ## About Caricaturewala I am Caricaturewala, and for me, drawing is like breathing.
