I do not set up stiff poses here because the best frames come from the moment someone spills the turmeric paste or when you are laughing with your friends. I bring a two-person team specifically for these functions to ensure we cover both sides of the family simultaneously without getting in your way. ### Capturing the Raw Energy of Pre-Wedding Rituals Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies are where the real, unscripted joy happens. While the main wedding day is often about tradition and scale, these pre-wedding events are where you truly let your hair down. My goal is to document that shift in energy. I use a documentary style for these functions. Whether it is an intimate ceremony in a Delhi home or a grand destination event at a palace in Orchha, I look for the candid interactions—the aunties applying haldi, the bride trying to sit still for mehendi, and the sudden splashes of color. #### My Process for Haldi and Mehendi Shoots * **Natural Lighting:** I prefer working with ambient light whenever possible to keep the skin tones looking real, especially with the yellow hues of haldi ceremonies. * **Dual Perspective:** For these events, I typically deploy two photographers. One focuses on the couple, while the other captures the candid reactions of your family and friends. This helps me get the complete story of the gathering, not just the highlights. * **Movement and Chaos:** These events are messy by design. I do not ask you to stay clean. I encourage you to enjoy the process, and I frame the shots to celebrate that playfulness. If you are planning an outdoor Mehendi or a poolside Haldi, let's talk about the timing. Golden hour often works best for the natural, cinematic portraits you see in my portfolio, while midday events require a different strategy to manage harsh sunlight.
