## About Postpartum Myth-Busting & Truths

That six-week clearance from your doctor is about infection and bleeding, not core strength or pelvic floor readiness. Most mamas I work with are shocked to learn that standard crunches can actually make abdominal separation worse, not better. Real recovery starts with simple, guided breathing and alignment, not rushing into intense planks or HIIT classes before your foundation is stable.

The 'bounce back' culture does us a disservice by framing motherhood as a race to get back to a pre-baby size. Whether it is the pressure to wear a belly wrap 24/7 or the dangerous advice to start high-impact exercise weeks after delivery, much of the conventional fitness wisdom is flawed. Belly wraps are a support tool, not a cure for Diastasis Recti, and they can actually weaken your core if you rely on them too long.

Similarly, breastfeeding does not automatically melt fat; in fact, the hormonal shifts involved can make your body hold onto energy for survival. My approach is different. We focus on rebuilding from the inside out. This means addressing your Diastasis Recti (ab separation) first with breath-to-core connection, not crunches. It means understanding that a C-section is major surgery that requires a specific, gentle protocol for scar tissue and mobility, not just 'rest and wait.' We look at your posture, your pelvic floor health, and your daily energy levels.

If you are struggling with a 'mom pooch' that won't budge or back pain that won't go away, it is not because you haven't tried hard enough—it is because the standard 'get fit' advice isn't designed for a postpartum body. We stop the guessing game and follow a structured path that honors where you are today, whether your baby is three months old or three years old. You deserve a plan that works with your biology, not against it.
