In our Kathak sessions, you’ll focus on the 'why' behind every gesture. Whether it’s mastering precise 'hasta mudras' (hand gestures) or the timing of a 'chakra' (spin), we emphasize the flow of storytelling and emotion, known as 'abhinaya'. Our batches are small, ensuring you get the personal attention needed to perfect your form and build the stage confidence to perform like a pro. ### Beyond the Steps: The Malang Kathak Philosophy At Malang, Kathak is about connecting mind, body, and soul. Our curriculum is built on the foundation of the Natyashastra, where we teach that 'where the hand goes, the eyes follow.' **What to Expect:** * **Technique:** You start with the basics of 'Aamad' and footwork, progressing to complex rhythmic patterns and intricate spins. We break down the mathematics of the beats so you truly understand the rhythm. * **Storytelling (Abhinaya):** We focus heavily on expressions, helping you translate the lyrics and emotions of the songs into beautiful visual narratives. * **Certification:** We offer a structured learning path with the opportunity to appear for formal exams, giving you a recognized qualification in this classical art. **The 'Baithak' Experience** We believe dance isn't just for a big stage. We host regular 'Baithaks' (intimate studio performances) where students showcase their progress. It is a space where you learn to be comfortable in your own skin, away from the pressure of perfection. Whether you are 5 or 55, our studio in Ashok Vihar offers a warm, air-conditioned environment with professional sprung wooden flooring, designed to keep your knees safe while you practice those powerful tatkars. ## About Malang Dance Company We are Malang Dance Company—a tribe where dance meets home.
