I often tailor the eye makeup, like choosing soft pinks or warm golds, to mirror the thread work in your saree, ensuring the overall look is balanced rather than overpowering. For a traditional South Indian look, the magic is in the details. Whether you are prepping for a Muhurtham, a Varapooje, or a temple wedding, the makeup needs to handle the bright, often warm lighting of the mandapam without looking heavy. I use HD foundation formulas that offer full coverage to conceal any texture while keeping your skin looking like skin. The eye makeup is usually focused on defining your features to stand up against the richness of Kanchipuram silk sarees and antique gold temple jewellery. I am very particular about the hairstyling, too. A classic braid (Jada) adorned with fresh jasmine and hair jewellery is iconic, but it needs to be set securely so it stays perfect through long rituals. For my brides, I also assist with the final saree pleating and Maang tikka placement, because a messy drape can distract from the entire look.
