This ensures your hair holds volume and shape throughout the entire shoot or event, so you do not have to worry about it going flat halfway through the day. Choosing the right hairstyle is all about balancing your outfit with the occasion. For traditional South Indian events like a muhurtham, I focus on sturdy, intricate braids that accommodate a full 'poola jada' (flower braid) and gold accessories. These need to be pinned securely to withstand the ceremony and the heat. For photoshoots, we have more flexibility. We can experiment with modern pull-through braids, soft fishtails, or romantic half-up styles with floral accents. If you have fine hair, I use specialized padding and texturizing to create the illusion of thickness and volume, which shows up beautifully on camera. I always recommend a quick consultation about your outfit neckline and fabric first. A saree with a heavy border often calls for a traditional braid to let the jewelry shine, while a lehenga or gown pairs perfectly with loose waves or a side-swept fishtail braid.
