At Maati Sona, my focus is on wabi-sabi—the beauty in imperfection. Whether it is a mug carved with your name or a large statement vase, I work with high-fired stoneware that is durable enough for your dishwasher and microwave. My process often involves Sgraffito, a carving technique where I scratch patterns through a layer of colored slip to reveal the clay beneath, or organic hand-pinched forms that feel unique to the touch. Based in HSR Layout, I love taking on projects that blend modern aesthetics with Indian utility, like the Dutch Iris pasta bowls or my hand-painted pomegranate series. Because every item is made by hand in small batches, slight variations in glaze and form are inevitable—which is exactly how I like it. If you are looking for tableware that feels like it belongs in your home rather than a showroom, let us create something together. ## About Maati Sona I’m Arunima, the hands and heart behind Maati Sona. After graduating from NID, I started this studio to bring the slow, grounding joy of pottery into modern Indian homes. I believe in embracing imperfections because that is where the true story of clay lives.
