It is about flow. Before committing to one, we analyze your floor plan to ensure there is at least 3 to 4 feet of clearance on all sides, keeping the kitchen comfortable for multiple people to move around without bumping into each other. If your space is tighter, we often suggest a breakfast bar extension instead of a detached island to maximize utility without overcrowding the room. Whether you are hosting a quick morning coffee or prepping a full meal, an island anchors the kitchen. We design islands that go beyond just surface area, incorporating smart storage like deep drawers, wine racks, or integrated ovens to keep the visual clutter off your countertops. ### Design Considerations for Your Island * **The Workflow:** We focus on the golden triangle logic, placing the island strategically between the sink, cooktop, and refrigerator. This minimizes steps and makes cooking efficient. * **Material Selection:** For a high-traffic area like an island, we recommend durable Quartz or Granite with a polished finish. We also offer waterfall edge designs, where the stone continues down the side of the cabinetry, providing a seamless, premium look that protects the cabinet edges from wear and tear. * **Integrated Lighting:** An island serves as a task zone and a dining spot. We install statement pendant lights overhead to define the area visually, combined with under-cabinet lighting that brings the entire space together. * **Seating & Comfort:** The choice between bar stools and bench seating changes the feel of your home. We help you select heights that ensure proper legroom, so the island functions as a genuine breakfast bar, not just a storage block. Whether you want a sleek, modern look in a high-gloss acrylic or something warmer with natural veneers, we ensure the island matches the rest of your home’s design language. ## About Lxm Interior We are Lxm Interior, and for three decades, we have been helping families across Delhi NCR build kitchens that truly feel like home.
