In these sessions, you will see toddlers handling real instruments—mini tablas, dholaks, and manjiras—while they pick up Sargam notes through play. It is messy, loud, and exactly how children build a genuine connection with music. If you want to see if your little one is ready to start their musical journey, a trial session is the best place to begin. ### A New Approach to Traditional Music Little Ustaads was founded in 2008 with a simple belief: fun and education should go hand in hand. We introduce children as young as 6 months to the rich world of Indian Classical music, focusing on discovery rather than rigid practice. ### What Happens in Our Sessions Our classes are designed for the 6-month to 5-year age group, creating a space where parents and children bond through rhythm. We move beyond recorded tracks, using live vocals to teach Raags and Taals. Key pillars of our program include: * **Hands-on Instruments:** We provide real, scaled-down versions of traditional instruments like the Tabla, Dholak, and Manjira. This helps children develop motor skills and an intuitive sense of rhythm. * **Playful Learning:** We use visual aids like custom Sargam blocks to teach Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, turning abstract notes into a tactile game. * **Movement & Expression:** We incorporate props like ribbons and Bandhani scarves, allowing children to express the music through dance and movement. ### Why Start Early? Early childhood is a critical window for auditory development. By exposing toddlers to complex rhythmic structures and classical vocals in a safe, play-based environment, we help them develop a lifelong appreciation for our culture.
