I do not just place lights; I plan where the shadows fall and how the light hits surfaces like wood or stone. This is how we move from a flat, bright room to one with real character and depth. ### My Approach to Light Lighting is about more than brightness. It is about creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable, even if they cannot pinpoint exactly why. My process centers on layered lighting. I mix ambient, task, and accent lights to define the mood of a room. By separating these layers, we ensure the space remains functional for work or dining while feeling warm and inviting for guests. ### Concept to Reality I collaborate closely with architects and interior designers from the initial planning phase. My design consultancy includes: * **Layered Illumination Plans:** Detailed layouts separating ambient, task, and accent lighting. * **Technical Specifications:** I provide a vendor-neutral Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with exact wattage and color temperatures to ensure the vision translates accurately to the site. * **Automation Logic:** Defining dimming scenes to help a space shift from a lunch environment to a late-night vibe. ### Frequently Asked Questions **How does lighting affect a restaurant's vibe?** Proper restaurant lighting is all about glare control and shadow management. By highlighting textures like brick or fabric and using low-level illumination for seating zones, we create an intimate environment that keeps guests relaxed. **Do you work on residential projects?** Yes. I bring the same hospitality-grade techniques to homes. I believe home lighting should adapt to your daily needs, layering soft ambient light with focused task lighting for reading or cooking. **Can you help with outdoor areas?** Absolutely. For facades and landscapes, I focus on IP-rated fixture specifications and architectural highlighting to ensure the building looks striking at night while keeping pathway lighting safe and glare-free. ## About Light Inspired Thinking I am Harshita Shetty, a lighting designer obsessed with how light changes the feel of a room.
