You will bring your own sketchbooks and pencils, but I provide the focus lighting and a quiet space where you can actually concentrate. If you are struggling with proportions or shading, I will sit with you to correct your technique, not just tell you what to fix. ### Mastering Realistic Sketching Realistic portraiture is not about being a natural artist; it is about learning to observe. Many people struggle with portraits because they draw what they think they see—an eye, a nose, a mouth—rather than the actual shapes and shadows on the paper. In my weekend sessions, we start with the fundamentals: mapping out facial structures and understanding the values of light and dark. ### Why Practice with Us? - **Small Group Attention:** My batches are capped at 6 to 10 students. This allows me to walk around and give everyone individual feedback on their shading or line work. You get real instruction, not just a set of instructions to follow. - **Structured Learning:** Whether you are a student or a working professional, my weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday) allows you to focus on your art without disrupting your week. - **Focus on Technique:** We move past basic sketches into advanced charcoal and graphite rendering. We cover anatomy, texture, and how to capture a subject's likeness using reference photos properly. ### What to Expect When you join, expect to get your hands dirty. I encourage you to bring your own art kit, which ensures you are comfortable with the tools you use at home. I provide the studio space, the lighting, and the guidance. If you are unsure if this is the right level for you, I always recommend starting with a demo session. It is the best way to see how I teach and whether the pace of the class fits your goals. ## About Liger Art Academy I am Rakesh, and I started Liger Art Academy because I believe art is the best way to express what we see and feel. I teach because I love watching students move from simple lines to detailed, realistic portraits. You will not find corporate training here, just honest practice and the room to make mistakes.
