## About Building Readers: Phonics & Early Years (Jr. KG - Gr 2)

I often see children struggling because they unconsciously translate from their mother tongue before speaking. In my classes, we break that habit. Through multi-sensory tools like our Smart Board games and the popular 'Chipchop' blending exercises, I help students learn to think in English so they can read with natural flow instead of relying on memorization.

### Building a Foundation Beyond Rote Learning

Many parents assume that phonics is just about memorizing letter sounds. That is a myth. At Learner’s Hub, I treat phonics as the architecture of language. Whether your child is in Jr. KG or Grade 2, the goal is to stop 'translating' mentally and start responding intuitively.

### My Teaching Methodology

I combine two proven approaches—Jolly Phonics and Letterland—to create a multi-sensory experience. 

*   **Story-Based Learning:** We don't just drill letters; we use stories and actions that make sounds memorable.
*   **Interactive Tech:** I use in-class Smart Boards to keep engagement high, turning vocabulary building into a game rather than a task.
*   **Hands-on Practice:** From my 'Chipchop' paper games for blending tricky consonant sounds (like 'nd' or 'nk') to physical workbooks like *I Can Spell and Write*, every activity has a purpose.

We keep our batch sizes small, with only 8 to 12 students per session. This ensures that every child, whether they are following ICSE, CBSE, or IGCSE curricula, gets the individual attention they need to correct their pronunciation and build reading stamina.
