I hunt for textures that make the colours vibrate. If you want a deep, moody palette, I layer velvety hydrangeas against structural, woody branches so the dark tones retain their depth rather than appearing flat. It is about creating rhythm within the arrangement, not just a uniform colour block. My approach to colour is heavily influenced by my time in London, where we learned to see a flower not just as a plant, but as a stroke of paint. In this collection, you will see how I balance light and shadow using a mix of imported and local blooms. Whether it is the 'Azure Étoile'—a blend of sky-blue hydrangeas and crisp white chrysanthemums—or a warmer, autumnal tablescape featuring burnt oranges and berries, the goal is always the same: to create an atmosphere. I often combine the wild, untamed energy of African Pincushions with the controlled elegance of Phalaenopsis orchids to ensure the arrangement feels alive. Colour is also about seasonality. In the colder months, I lean into cozy, iron-reds and peach tones that look stunning by candlelight. During festive seasons, I enjoy twisting the classic marigold and jasmine palettes into modern, architectural shapes. If you have a specific space in your home that needs a mood lift, let me know. I can create a custom palette that pulls colours directly from your interior decor or the specific emotion you want to evoke in that room. ## About Kusum Flowers Hi, I'm Kusum. To me, a floral arrangement is a painting made of petals and stems. Whether you want the moody drama of deep purples or the joyful energy of citrus tones, I treat every palette as a fresh canvas for my floral couture.
