We use traditional mortise and tenon techniques rather than exterior screws, which ensures the frame remains rigid and wobble-free for years. Whether you select a deep-seat sofa or a slim entryway bench, the high-density foam we use is rated at 40 for shape retention, so it will not sag after months of use. The foundation of our seating is solid teak wood, chosen not just for its rich aesthetic but for its structural integrity. Every sofa and bench undergoes a strict quality control process, from the initial wood selection to the final matte PU finish that protects against moisture and daily wear. ### Customization and Comfort We understand that a sofa must fit your specific floor plan. We offer full customization for all seating pieces. You can choose the fabric type, ranging from heavy-duty suede to textured cotton blends, and select wood stains that match your existing interiors. Our 3-seater sofas feature 40-density HR foam with a soft layer on top, creating a balance of support and comfort that accommodates long hours of relaxation. ### The Role of Rattan Beyond just a design element, the woven rattan or cane panels we integrate into our benches and sofa sides serve a functional purpose. They allow for natural ventilation, which is particularly beneficial in humid climates. Each panel is hand-woven into diamond or hexagonal patterns, providing a visual lightness that prevents heavy wood furniture from overwhelming your room. ### Maintenance Tips To keep your teak furniture looking new, we recommend minimal upkeep. Our fabric covers are designed for easy removal and dry cleaning. For the wooden frame, a simple wipe down with a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, as they can strip the natural protective oils of the teak wood. If you ever feel the sheen is fading after several years, a light re-oiling will restore the natural glow. ## About Kursi Studio I started Kursi because I wanted to bring the warmth of solid teak into modern Bangalore homes. Every sofa and bench I build is a conversation between traditional craftsmanship and the way you actually live, focused on comfort and lasting quality.
