My process starts with a quick sketch to anchor the scene, followed by layers of acrylic paint to capture the atmosphere before the sun shifts. Whether it is the dappled shade at Cubbon Park or the reflection on a lake, I am focused on translating that specific energy onto the canvas right where I stand. Nature has a way of moving faster than a brush can follow. When I paint in Bangalore's parks, I am not just capturing a view; I am chasing the way the light hits the ancient banyan trees or how the ripples change on a lake as evening approaches. My approach to outdoor art is about 'kamar kasna hai' (getting ready for hard work). I set up my easel in the middle of the environment, whether it is a bustling park or a quiet lakeside, and work directly from what I see.
