For Ganesh Chaturthi, we bring in a local potter so children can mold their own clay idols, experiencing the process from start to finish. It is not about having a perfect finished product. It is about the tactile joy of creation and understanding the tradition through their own hands. ### Learning Unity Through Tradition At Kriya Global Montessori, we view festivals as more than just a day off school. They are integral parts of our curriculum, offering a tangible way to teach children about empathy, cultural variety, and togetherness. By involving children in every step—from molding clay for Ganesha to performing nativity plays for Christmas—we help them internalize the significance of these traditions. ### Hands-On Cultural Education Our approach is grounded in active participation rather than passive observation. When we celebrate Onam, children engage in making a pookolam (flower rangoli), which requires patience, coordination, and an eye for color. During Raksha Bandhan, we focus on the core value of protection and mutual respect, teaching our students that kindness extends beyond family to every friend in the classroom. ### Why Community Matters In our mixed-age classrooms, festivals act as a bridge.
