I work from your photographs, and we can even merge elements from different images to create the perfect composition for your canvas. Whether it is a family member or a furry friend, the final piece will have a personal touch that digital photos just cannot replicate. ### How We Get Started To begin, send me a few high-resolution photographs of the person or pet you would like me to paint. I prefer photos with clear lighting so I can capture the true expression in their eyes. We can discuss your preference for the background, whether you want a solid colour to keep the focus entirely on the subject or something more abstract with floral or textural elements. ### My Process and Timeline I use professional-grade acrylic paints on archival quality cotton duck canvas. This combination ensures that the colours stay vibrant and the portrait remains a cherished heirloom for years. Because I layer the paint to get those unique brushstrokes and textures, each portrait takes about 2 to 3 weeks to complete from the moment we finalise the reference photo. ### Why Hand-Painted Portraits As a pet parent myself, I know that our pets and family are our whole world. My approach is less about technical perfection and more about feeling. I want the final piece to bring a smile to your face every time you walk past it. The paintings are finished with a clear varnish, making them durable, dust-resistant, and ready for you to hang on your wall the moment you receive them. ## About Biji Nagesh I am Biji, and for me, painting is simply a way to breathe. My studio is full of acrylics and usually a few cats who think they are painters too, but when I start a portrait, it is all about connecting with the spirit of the subject.
