Every detail, from her hair to her dress, is crafted from sugar. This was a huge learning curve for me, and I'm so proud of how she turned out.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/673b1a1b-1d45-49d4-a023-4ab33ab51831) ## About My Baking Journey Behind every figurine and intricate floral arrangement is a lot of trial and error. That doll you see in my photos wasn't just a fun project; it was the result of a demanding masterclass in sugar sculpting that taught me how to handle fondant in ways I never thought possible. When you order a custom cake, you get the benefit of those late nights and the skills I picked up along the way. When I started KolmarieKakes, I was just teaching myself through videos in my kitchen. Now, I am constantly looking for the next skill to master, whether it is figurine modeling or advanced piping techniques. Being selected as one of India's Top 50 Home Bakers for 2021-22 was a surreal moment. It wasn't just about the certificate; it was validation that all those long hours of trial, error, and messy aprons were paying off. It also meant a lot to learn from masters like Chef Kabilova Dilfuza, whose guidance on sugar sculpting opened up a new world of possibilities for the cakes I create. My approach is simple: I treat every cake, cupcake, and cookie as a piece of art. Whether I am painting delicate patterns or molding a character for a birthday, I focus on the details that make a dessert stand out. I bring this same dedication to every order I fulfill here in Darjeeling. If you have a specific theme or a wild idea for a cake, bring it to me. I love a good challenge and will happily work with you to make it happen. ## About KolmarieKakes I’m Komal, and I bake from my home in Darjeeling.
