In my training sessions, we sit on floor mats, just like the children we teach. We work directly with LEGO Duplo sets, dot cards, and phonics flashcards because you cannot truly understand a play-based approach if you are not experiencing the manipulatives yourself. This is a shared space where we build, laugh, and prepare to walk into our classrooms the next day with tools that actually work. These images represent the core of what we do at Knowledge Origin: bridging the gap between educational theory and real-life classroom application. Whether I am guiding a group of student teachers or conducting a deep-dive numeracy workshop for seasoned educators, the goal remains the same—to simplify complex concepts through play. ### Practical Pedagogy My training focuses on ready-to-use strategies. For phonics, that means swapping rote memorization for multi-sensory actions like the songs and gestures we practice in these sessions. For math, we move past worksheets to subitizing, pattern recognition, and using physical grids to build a number sense that actually clicks for kids. ### The 'Six Bricks' Approach I often partner with specialists for programs like the LEGO Foundation’s 'Six Bricks.' It is incredible to see how six simple blocks can unlock creativity, cognitive development, and problem-solving skills, not just for the children, but for us as teachers who need to keep our own creative spark alive. ### A Collaborative Community If you join one of my sessions at the Yelahanka center, expect to be involved. You will see teachers building, sketching, and problem-solving together. We are not just training; we are building a community of educators who believe that to inspire curiosity in children, we must first remain curious ourselves. ## About Knowledge Origin I founded Knowledge Origin because I wanted a space that feels like home, not a formal institution. I am a parent and an educator who believes that if we want to build a curious world for kids, we need to create a space for teachers to play, experiment, and learn without judgment.
