Whether it is a tribute to Shivaji Maharaj or a symbolic illustration of our history, I capture the stories that define us. ## Photos and videos - [Video: This video shows me adding the final details to my painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is not just about getting the likeness right on the canvas, it is about capturing the weight of the history and the steady gaze that tells a story. I want these paintings to feel like they hold the strength of the person they represent. For me, heritage art is a conversation between the past and the present. I often find myself painting figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, not just as historical icons, but as symbols of strength and identity that resonate deeply with my own Aagri Koli roots. My goal is to translate that reverence onto the canvas. Whether you are looking for an acrylic canvas piece for your living space or a digital illustration for a personal tribute, the process starts with understanding what that figure means to you. For canvas works, I use high-quality acrylics on stretched cotton, focusing on deep, rich colors that bring traditional attire and artifacts to life. Digital pieces, on the other hand, allow for a different kind of precision, perfect for capturing monochromatic, high-contrast scenes that focus on mood and symbolism. Each project is a collaboration. Before I start the final painting, we go through the composition, the pose, and the cultural elements you want included. I take the time to study the specific historical details because I know how much it matters to get them right. My workspace is usually filled with the stories behind these figures, and I bring that same focus to your commission. If you have a specific historical scene or figure in mind, let me know, and we can discuss how to turn that idea into a piece that honors the history you admire. ## About Karishma Joshi I am Karishma, and for me, art is my way of connecting with my faith and my Aagri Koli roots. When I pick up a brush to paint a historical figure, I am not just creating a portrait; I am telling a story that stays with you.
