When I'm on stage for a community festival, my job is to read the room—literally. If the crowd needs a boost during a lull or if we need to ramp up the intensity during a high-stakes moment like a Dahihandi pyramid, I know exactly how to use my voice, shayaris, and humor to keep the energy spike high. Hosting a community festival in Mumbai is different from any other event. You are not just managing a stage; you are managing the collective energy of hundreds or even thousands of people. My approach is to be the bridge between the devotional atmosphere and the pure fun that people come to these festivals for. ### Why my hosting works for festivals: - **Crowd Engagement:** Whether it's Ganpati Visarjan or a local Konkan Mahotsav, I keep the interaction constant. I use quick-witted 'shayaris' and rhyming couplets to introduce performers, ensuring the transition from devotion to entertainment is smooth. - **Multilingual Connection:** I fluently mix Marathi, Hindi, and English. This is crucial for community events where you have everyone from elderly grandmothers to young kids in the audience. I make sure everyone feels spoken to. - **Adaptability:** I have hosted events in the pouring rain during Dahihandi and in large, packed community grounds. I am comfortable handling a handheld mic, working with your local DJ, and managing the stage flow so the organizers don't have to worry about a thing. - **Cultural Respect:** I deeply understand the traditional aspects, whether it's 'Ukhane' for ladies or paying respects to deities like Ekvira Mauli before starting the show. If you want an anchor who isn't afraid to step off the stage and interact with the crowd to get those 'joradar tallya' (loud applause) going, let's talk about your upcoming event. ## About Kishor Kalakar I'm Kishor. I believe the best events happen when the host feels like part of the family. I don't stand behind a podium—I walk the crowd, crack jokes, and make sure every guest, from the youngest child to the eldest member, feels like they are the heart of the celebration.
