For my solo recitals, I can perform to high-quality studio tracks for smaller, budget-friendly events, or bring a full live ensemble—vocalist, mridangam, flute, and nattuvangam—to create that irreplaceable, spontaneous dialogue between dance and sound. As a disciple of the Sri Vempati Chinna Satyam tradition, my solo recitals are rooted in classical integrity. I don't just perform movements; I aim to interpret the narrative so it speaks to the audience, regardless of their familiarity with the art form. ### The Performance Structure My recitals typically follow a classic progression: * **Invocation:** Starting with prayers to set the sacred space. * **Nritta (Pure Dance):** Where the focus is on complex footwork and geometric body lines, showing the technical rigor of Kuchipudi. * **Abhinaya (Storytelling):** The heart of the performance, where I embody characters from mythology to convey deep human emotions. * **Tarangam:** The signature finale, where I balance and dance on the rim of a brass plate, requiring immense physical control and rhythm. ### Practical Considerations * **Venue Setup:** I am flexible with stage setups. For intimate home gatherings or private functions in Bengaluru, we can manage with minimal lighting and sound requirements. For larger auditoriums, I provide consultation to ensure the acoustics and lighting enhance the visual impact of the performance. * **Costume & Makeup:** I wear the authentic male Kuchipudi dhoti and temple jewelry. The heavy, character-specific makeup is part of the traditional presentation, helping me transition into the roles I perform. Ultimately, my goal is not perfection, but presence.
