Whether it is a solo performance or a student’s Rangapravesham, I insist on live ensemble accompaniment—mridangam, flute, and nattuvangam. It is this live connection between the dancer, the musician, and the audience that makes each performance a distinct experience, not a pre-recorded routine. My training at Kimaham is rooted in the Vempati Chinna Satyam style. This is not about rushing through steps but understanding the discipline of the Guru-Shishya Parampara. When you join my classes in Whitefield or Adarsh Palm Retreat, you are not just learning movements; you are engaging with the Natyashastra theory, mudras, and the body kinetics that define true Kuchipudi. ### The Path to Rangapravesham For dedicated students, the goal is often the Rangapravesham, or the solo debut. This is a monumental milestone. It requires years of commitment, mastering complex adavus (footwork), and developing the maturity to handle a full-length performance. I guide students through every stage, including stagecraft, lighting, and coordination with a live orchestra, ensuring they are ready to ascend the stage with confidence. ### Why Live Music Matters Most of my performances and student recitals feature live classical music. The dialogue between the dancer and the musicians—the flute, mridangam, and nattuvangam—creates an energy you cannot replicate with a track. It forces the dancer to be present, listening to the rhythm, and reacting to the notes as they happen. This is the essence of classical dance in Bengaluru and beyond. Whether you are looking for advanced mentorship for your Arangetram or a beginner group class to start your journey, my focus remains on individual growth, posture correction, and upholding the sanctity of this art form. ## About Avijit Das I am Avijit Das.
