My secret is creating 'mess zones' with disposable table covers and keeping pre-rinsed tool buckets filled with soapy water at every station. By containing the supplies to specific areas, you ensure the paint stays on the canvas and off your carpet, leaving you with nothing to do but pack up the materials at the end. ### Planning with Purpose When you stop focusing on making the party 'perfect' and start focusing on the experience, everything becomes easier. I have spent 11 years planning art parties in Mumbai, and I have learned that children thrive when they have freedom. Keep the environment calm by setting up individual stations rather than one large, competitive game area. This allows children to work at their own pace, which naturally reduces the noise level. ### Choosing the Right Activities Don't try to cram too many activities into one event. For a standard 90-minute session, choose one main activity like canvas painting or slime making. This ensures children don't feel rushed and can actually finish what they start. If you are worried about the 'what-if' scenarios, I always suggest having a backup craft that is quick and low-mess, like decorating pre-cut cardstock or using stickers on tote bags. ### Return Gifts That Matter Parents often stress about return gifts, but my advice is to skip the plastic toys that break in a day. Instead, focus on gifts that extend the creative experience. Think of small kits like DIY plant pots, personalized stationery with their name, or a simple sketchbook. These are thoughtful, sustainable, and keep the artistic spark alive long after the party guests have left. ### Dealing with the Mumbai Monsoon and Heat If you are hosting at home, assess your space. We can set up in a living room, balcony, or garden, but ensure there is adequate ventilation if we are doing anything involving heat like soap molding or glue guns. We carry our own furniture, so you do not need to worry about the size of your space; we adapt to the room you have. ## About Kids Palette I am Kanishka, and I started this journey because I wanted to see my own daughter's eyes light up with messy, creative joy. I am not just a planner; I am a mom who knows that the best parties are about letting kids find their own rhythm, not following strict rules. When you work with me, you are getting a partner who cares about your living room as much as your child’s masterpiece.
