Before we even select the tropical mix, we look at your terrace’s weight-bearing capacity, waterproofing, and slope for drainage. These are the invisible bones of the garden. If you want a sanctuary that lasts, we have to start with this engineering foundation so your terrace can hold the soil and water safely for years. ### The Architecture of Nature True landscape design on a roof isn't about filling corners with pots; it is about spatial choreography. I look at your terrace as an extension of your living room, ensuring the transition from indoors to outdoors is seamless. Whether it is a sun-drenched rooftop or a shaded balcony, the design process starts with understanding the microclimate of your specific floor. ### Beyond Decoration: Our Process My approach is climate-responsive and rooted in longevity: * **Structural Planning:** We assess the slab capacity and drainage slopes before any material arrives. This ensures your terrace can handle mature tree roots and automated irrigation without causing seepage issues. * **Materiality:** I often use materials like corten steel, leather-finish granite, or WPC timber decking. These materials age gracefully under the open sky and require minimal upkeep. * **The Layered Greenery:** We don't just use decorative plants. We select native, tropical species that can withstand the wind and high solar exposure typical of rooftops. This creates a dense, layered privacy screen that cools the ambient temperature of your home. * **Turnkey Execution:** From the pergola installation to the placement of custom benches, we manage the technical execution so the garden matures exactly as envisioned in the master plan. Ultimately, a rooftop landscape is a commitment to growth. It will change with the seasons and gain character with time. I design these spaces to evolve with you, becoming more lush and established with every passing year. ## About Kiasma Studio I’m Kiasma Studio.
