Whether it is a student mastering their first Teentaal kaida on the tabla or a solo performance of Raag Bhairav on the sitar, our students regularly participate in annual baithaks and inter-school competitions to bridge the gap between rigorous daily practice and public performance. At Khalsa Music Academy, our curriculum is designed to move students from foundational exercises to confident performance. We focus heavily on the structural integrity of Indian classical music. Every student, regardless of age, starts with the essential principles of raag for melody and taal for rhythm. Our training environment is central to our success. We conduct sessions in a traditional baithak style, seated on the floor to encourage focus and discipline. This setup is not merely for aesthetics, it is about creating a space where the student can immerse themselves in the sound and vibration of their instrument. We teach a wide array of instruments, covering everything from the rhythmic complexity of tabla and dhol to the melodic depth of string instruments like the sitar, dilruba, and sarod.
