In our sessions, I show the kids how to blend layers to create glowing effects, teaching them to handle the chalks without smudging their own hard work. It is a fantastic tactile lesson in color mixing that feels more like play than a formal art class. Why we love soft pastels: They are perfect for beginners because they are forgiving and immediate. Unlike paints that require drying time, pastels allow kids to see results instantly. We start with simple silhouettes and move to more detailed mythological figures, teaching kids how to layer darks under lights to create depth. What your child learns: - Blending techniques: Using fingertips or paper stumps to soften edges. - Layering colors: Adding vibrant yellows and oranges to create warm, glowing backgrounds. - Composition: Balancing subjects like birds or deities against scenery. Our classes are small, usually 6 to 10 kids, so I can sit with each student. Whether it is the soft feathers of a macaw or the gentle folds of a garment, I help them understand how pressure changes the intensity of the color. It is not just about making a pretty picture; it is about learning patience and observation. These workshops are great for school art projects, too. Many parents tell me their kids start using these techniques at home on their own. We provide all the materials, from high-quality paper to soft pastels, so you just need to bring your child and their enthusiasm to our studio in Spaze Privy, Sector 72. ## About Khushiyan Drawing Classes I started KDAAC after watching my own daughter draw her dreams on paper. My teaching is simple—I focus on clear steps and lots of encouragement, helping every child find their own khushiyan (happiness) through art.
