I will show you how to blend layers to make smooth transitions in skies or water without turning your drawing into a smudge. It is all about working in stages and learning when to stop so your colors stay bright and clean. ### Master the Creamy Texture of Oil Pastels Oil pastels are often underestimated, but when you know how to handle them, they offer a vibrancy that other mediums just cannot match. In my studio in BTM Layout, we move beyond simple coloring. We focus on techniques like scumbling, blending, and layering to create depth in your work. Whether you are painting a rustic boat scene or a detailed kingfisher portrait, the goal is to make the colors pop without losing the definition. ### What to Expect in Class We run small weekend batches because I want to give every student personal attention. The vibe here is completely relaxed. We sit on mats, listen to music, and really focus on our canvases. * **Technique First:** We start with how to hold the pastel, how to build pressure, and how to use tools like cotton buds or tissues to blend smoothly. * **Color Theory:** Understanding how to place colors next to each other creates that vibrant look you see in my gallery. * **Project-Based Learning:** We do not just practice strokes. You will walk away with completed artworks, from landscapes to still life studies. ### Practical Details These are hobby classes, so we follow a Bring Your Own Material (BYOM) model. Do not worry, I provide a complete list of what you need to pick up before your first day. My studio is conveniently located in BTM Layout, making it an easy spot for anyone in the neighborhood looking to de-stress through art on a Saturday or Sunday. ## About KD School of Arts I started KD School of Art to share the pure happiness I find in sketching and painting. My classes are less like a formal school and more like a group of friends hanging out on the floor, trying new techniques, and just having a blast with colors.
