## About Beyond Silver: Cyanotypes, Albumen & Custom Prints

When you commission a cyanotype or albumen print, you are not just getting an image; you are participating in a 19th-century chemical dance. The cyanotypes rely on sunlight to fix Prussian blue tones onto 300 GSM watercolor paper, while our albumen prints use actual egg whites to bind silver salts, creating a unique, archival sheen. It is a slow, tactile collaboration—plan for a bit of time, as these processes cannot be rushed.

### Beyond the Digital Frame

In an era where thousands of photos are swiped past in seconds, these prints demand your attention. My studio in Cooke Town specializes in slow photography—processes that predate modern digital convenience by over a century.

**Cyanotypes: The Blueprint of Light**
Also known as sun printing, the cyanotype process uses iron salts sensitive to UV light. By exposing paper to the Bengaluru sun, we capture stark, dreamlike silhouettes in deep Prussian blue. It is perfect for botanical studies, abstract forms, or landscapes that need a sense of timelessness. I often work with high-quality 300 GSM watercolor paper, ensuring your print feels like a piece of art, not just a photo.

**Albumen Prints: The Art of Egg Whites**
For those seeking detail and warmth, the albumen process is unmatched. Invented in the 1840s, it uses egg whites to bind silver salts to the paper. This creates a subtle, glossy sheen and sepia-toned richness that mimics vintage architecture. It is a labor-intensive method, but the result is a one-of-a-kind physical artifact.

**Customization & Framing**
Every piece is handmade, meaning the chemistry, the texture, and the final look will be uniquely yours. I collaborate with local artisans like The Deshi Gallery for custom wood framing, ensuring your piece is ready to hang the moment it arrives. Whether you are looking for an intimate portrait, a landscape, or a completely custom narrative piece, I invite you to drop by the studio to discuss how we can turn your idea into a physical heirloom.
