We bring the discipline of our Bengaluru Kalari to your home through bi-weekly live Zoom sessions. Every student begins with *Saadhakam*—rhythm exercises on stone blocks—to build the foundation before touching a drum. This ensures that even from a distance, you develop the correct posture and rhythm precision required for traditional Melam. ### Bringing the Gurukulam Home For 15 years, our mission has been to preserve Kerala's temple percussion, and our online platform ensures that distance is no barrier. Whether you are in another city or abroad, we provide the same authentic training that our 800+ students receive in our physical locations in Bengaluru. ### What You Will Learn Our curriculum is designed to be comprehensive, covering the core elements of Kerala percussion: * **Chenda:** From the basics of *Ganapathi Kai* to the complex patterns of Panchari and Pandi Melam. Experience the *simha garjjanam* (lion's roar) of the instrument right from your practice space. * **Ilathaalam:** Master the cymbals that guide the ensemble. * **Sopana Sangeetham with Edakka:** Learn the devotional grace of these instruments, focusing on melody and rhythm. ### The Methodology We combine the best of digital learning with traditional rigour: * **Live Interactive Sessions:** 8 live sessions per month ensure our teachers can watch your technique, correct your wrist movements, and guide your posture. * **Self-Paced Library:** Access 20+ pre-recorded modules to practice at your own time, perfect for refining your rhythm cycles. * **Doubt Clearing:** You get dedicated 1-on-1 slots every month to ensure no question goes unanswered. ### Certification We maintain high standards of learning. Once you master a level, you earn a digital completion certificate. Our goal is to ensure that even online, the *paarambaryam* (tradition) of Kalavadhyam is passed down with integrity and precision. ## About Kalavadhyam We are a family bound by a shared love for the rhythms of Kerala. We started Kalavadhyam with a small spark to keep these traditions alive, and today, we invite you to be part of our lineage, whether you join us in our Bengaluru Kalari or through our online Gurukulam.
