This was our special greeting for Ganesh Chaturthi, featuring some of our students. From celebrating festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi together to hosting informal jam sessions, these shared moments help our students find their rhythm and confidence in a way that structured lessons alone cannot match. At Kalanjali, we believe that the soul of Kathak is best nurtured in a supportive environment. While our technique workshops and Masterclasses provide the foundation, our community events are where the real connections happen. ### Why Our Community Matters Learning a classical art form can often feel like a solitary pursuit. We shift that focus. Our students—whether they are children, working professionals, or seniors—participate in Annual Day performances, Guru Purnima celebrations, and festive gatherings. These events give dancers a chance to step out of the studio and share their progress with a live audience, which is essential for building performance confidence. ### More Than Just Steps When you join our Bangalore studio, you are not just signing up for a class. You become part of a network of dancers who share your passion. We encourage peer support, where advanced students help beginners navigate their first *Tatkar* (footwork) sequences. ### Staying Connected We keep our community active through: * **Cultural Celebrations:** Marking festivals to understand the roots of the music and gestures we use. * **Student Jam Sessions:** Informal practice hours where students can experiment with *Hastak* (hand gestures) without the pressure of a syllabus. * **Annual Showcases:** A dedicated platform for every student to wear their ghungroos and perform, regardless of their experience level. Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps in Kundanahalli or an advanced dancer looking for a deeper connection to the lineage of Kathak, you will find a place here. ## About Neetu's Kathak I started Kalanjali in 2008 to create a space where learning Kathak feels like coming home.
