We strip away the casual class vibe to focus entirely on the nuance of *abhinaya* (expression) and the complexities of rhythm. You aren't just learning steps; you are learning how to dialogue with a live tabla player and understanding the specific *Tode* and *Paran* compositions that have been passed down through generations. ### Why these workshops matter Learning from a textbook or a video is one thing; learning from a lineage holder is another. In these masterclasses, we don't just cover the syllables of dance—we cover the story of the dance. ### What to expect * **Direct Instruction:** Classes are taught by guest Gurus, ensuring you get the exact technique and discipline from the source. * **Live Accompaniment:** We integrate live tabla musicians so you learn to react to the beat in real-time, just as Kathak was intended to be performed. * **Deep Dives:** We move beyond basic *tatkar* (footwork) into complex compositions like *Amad* and *Paran*, tailored to the Guru's specific Gharana style. ### Is this for you? If you are a beginner looking to understand the 'why' behind the movement, or an advanced dancer seeking the polish that comes from years of tradition, these sessions are designed to refine your craft. We often conclude with a certificate of completion and an open Q&A session, giving you the rare opportunity to learn about the history and lineage of the art form directly from the master. Our Bangalore studio is equipped with professional wooden flooring, providing the safety and space needed for intensive sessions. These aren't just classes; they are a community experience. ## About Neetu's Kathak I believe that Kathak isn't just learned; it's absorbed. That’s why I invite lineage maestros to our studio—to give you a window into the rich history of the art form that you won't find in a standard curriculum.
