In my portrait classes, we do not guess the features. I teach you the Loomis and Grid methods, which break down the complex structure of the skull and facial muscles into manageable, repeatable steps. Whether you are using Staedtler pencils for hyper-realistic graphite sketches or layering oils to create lifelike skin tones, the approach remains consistent: structure first, then detail. Mastering the portrait is one of the most rewarding challenges for any artist, but it requires moving beyond basic sketching. In our portrait series, we strip away the intimidation factor. We start with the fundamentals—understanding proportion, shadow, and light—before moving into specific mediums. ### Mediums & Techniques * **Graphite & Charcoal:** We teach you how to handle high-quality graphite for precise details and charcoal for dramatic, expressive shading. You will learn to use professional tools like electric erasers and blending stumps to create smooth skin transitions and sharp highlights. * **Oil & Watercolors:** For those ready for color, our workshops focus on layering techniques, essential for skin tones and depth. We move from thin washes to thick impasto application. ### Why Choose Our Portrait Classes? Unlike standard art classes that focus on generic shapes, our curriculum is structured. You will learn to observe your subject, identify the source of light, and translate 3D volume onto a 2D surface. This is vital for students preparing for BFA entrance exams or professionals wanting to refine their hyper-realistic skills. We keep our batches small to ensure I can personally correct your perspective and shading during every session at our Dwarka studio. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced artist, you will leave with a portrait that looks like a person, not just a drawing. ## About Kalabhumi Arts I am Asgar Ali here.
