In our fielding sessions, we focus on 'soft hands' for catching and explosive footwork for cutting off boundaries. We use video analysis to fix your stance early so you do not develop bad habits that cost you runs in a real match. Fielding and wicketkeeping are the most underrated skills in the game. While batting and bowling get the spotlight, a sharp fielder saves runs and creates breakthroughs when the bowler is under pressure. At Just Cricket Academy, we treat these disciplines with the same level of technical rigour as batting or pace bowling. ### Why Technique Matters Whether it is a slip catch or a high ball near the boundary, it comes down to a few core principles: eye-hand coordination, balance, and the 'ready' position. You will learn how to present a large hand area to receive the ball, how to dive safely to minimize injury, and most importantly, how to anticipate the ball before it is even hit. ### Facilities for Realistic Practice Training on synthetic mats is not the same as training on grass. Because we operate out of a BCCI-approved facility in Rajanukunte, our fielding drills are done on genuine Bermuda grass turf wickets. This provides an authentic bounce and speed, which is crucial for wicketkeepers who need to adjust to varied trajectories.
