We drill on clay surfaces because that is where true foundational hockey is forged, helping kids develop the grip, posture, and passing accuracy they need to succeed on any pitch. ### The Clay Court Advantage We train on clay surfaces at locations like St. Mary's Orphanage Grounds because it demands more from the player. It requires better balance and more precise stick work than synthetic turf. By mastering these basics on clay, our players build the wrist strength and game sense that make them versatile on any surface, whether it is a local school ground or a competitive artificial turf. ### More Than Just Drills Our sessions are not just about repetitive hitting. We follow a curriculum designed by Olympian Jude Felix that balances technical field hockey skills with match-ready tactical awareness. - **Core Foundation:** We focus heavily on dribbling, passing, and receiving, ensuring players have a solid base before moving to complex tactics. - **Tactical Mindset:** As players progress, we introduce game plans, penalty corner conversions, and decision-making drills that teach them how to read the game. ### A Holistic Approach Success on the field is supported by what happens off it. We integrate sports nutrition and fitness training into our regular coaching schedule. Through partnerships with experts like The Fit Squaddron and QUA Nutrition, we ensure our students are not just learning hockey, but are developing the strength and habits of true athletes. Whether you are a complete beginner picking up a stick for the first time or a student looking to play at the state level, our coaches—including former international players and FIH-certified professionals—are here to guide you. We believe that with the right mentorship, every school team can play with both skill and heart. ## About Jude Felix Hockey Academy At Jude Felix Hockey Academy, we believe hockey is more than just a sport, it is a way to build character and community.
