For smaller Mehendi or Haldi events, I stick to a base palette of two main tones and use purposeful lighting, like fairy light canopies or targeted uplighters, to bridge the gap between fabrics. This method keeps the space looking vibrant and festive without feeling visually crowded or overdone. When we plan for a colorful event, the goal is to balance intensity with comfort. A common mistake in event decor is using too many competing colors, which can make a space feel smaller or chaotic. We prefer to use a cohesive palette—often blending marigolds, fuchsia, or pastel combinations—and layer them with textures like satin or chiffon drapes. ### Why Lighting Matters For evening Mehendi functions or night-time events, the lighting does the heavy lifting. We don't just use standard bulbs. We weave fairy lights directly into the ceiling drapes to create a soft, glowing canopy effect. Adding green or warm-yellow uplighting near trees or pillars helps ground the colorful fabrics and makes the venue feel more intimate. ### Venue Flexibility Whether you are hosting in a traditional Mumbai banquet hall, an open lawn, or a terrace, we adapt the setup. In halls with lower ceilings, we concentrate on wall-to-wall draping to create a wrap-around festive look. For lawn events, we focus on overhead structures to define the seating area, ensuring the decor stays put even when the Mumbai breeze picks up. ### Practical Considerations We design with photography in mind. Our backdrops for photo booths or stage areas are positioned to capture the best natural light during the day, or utilize dedicated spotlights at night. If you have a specific color theme in mind from your invitations or outfits, let us know early—we can match the fabric shades and floral accents to ensure everything looks consistent in your photos. ## About Jewel Decorators I am Kashyap from Jewel Decorators.
