All you need is a cotton pad and some acetone or alcohol-based remover. It is a common panic moment, but you do not need a professional cleanup for this. A quick wipe with an alcohol-based remover usually fixes it in seconds. I am all about keeping your nails looking salon-fresh at home without rushing for a refill every time a little stain appears. ### Dealing with Everyday Nail Stains We love our food, but haldi (turmeric) can be a nightmare for light-colored gel extensions or polish. The yellowness is stubborn, but do not start scraping or filing your nail surface. That only damages the top coat. Just grab some cotton pads and acetone or an alcohol-based remover. A simple, firm wipe will lift that staining right off. It is a lifesaver when you are in a rush and cannot make it to the studio. ### Respecting Your Hyponychium If you see skin growing right under your free nail edge, do not cut it. That is the hyponychium, a protective layer keeping bacteria out. Cutting into it is a recipe for pain, bleeding, and serious infections. Instead of deep cutting, use a gentle file to manage the length and keep the free edge healthy. If you are struggling with nail growth or cuticle health, consistency is key. Keep your cuticles moisturized with oil to ensure the skin around the nail stays soft and healthy. ### Why Health Comes First I always say that healthy nails are the best canvas.
