Whether I am using imported Russian plaster for that perfect edge retention or mixing my own base for a textured look, the process is pure patience. You have to know exactly how much paste to load on the knife and when to stop layering before the bloom gets too heavy. For those asking about my technique, this is where the magic happens. Russian sculpture art is distinct because it is not just painted; it is built. In these videos, you will see me work with professional-grade palette knives to shape every single petal. It is a slow, methodical process that requires a delicate touch. I often get questions about why this art form takes so long to master. It comes down to the plaster. I rely on a mix of materials—sometimes high-quality Indian pastes for the base and specialized imported Russian pastes for the complex, delicate petals. The latter is incredibly tricky to work with because it holds texture differently, which is why it is essential to learn the right knife angles. When you watch me working on a 12-inch wall clock or a small fridge magnet, you are seeing the same foundational skills. It is all about 'Jashn-e-Kala' or celebrating the art. I don't aim for factory-perfect results. Instead, I show you how to embrace the texture and the slight imperfections that make a flower look real.
