Jamia only accepts sports certificates from bodies recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) that were issued within the last three years. If you submit invitational, open, or outdated certificates, the system will flag them, and your application will not proceed. Check your paperwork against the official list before you upload anything. ### Understanding the Jamia Sports Quota Getting into Jamia via the sports quota is a structured process. We manage this to ensure that only the most deserving athletes—those with a real competitive record—make it to the trials. #### Eligibility and Documents To be considered, you must have a solid sporting record at the National, State, Regional, or University level. - **Certificate Verification:** Your certificates must be verified by the Games and Sports Department. We cross-check these against official lists. - **Academic Status:** You must have passed or be appearing for your final qualifying exam. - **The 5% Edge:** If you are an exceptional athlete, the university may offer a relaxation of up to 5% in your aggregate or subject marks. #### The Application Path 1. **Online Filing:** Fill out your application on the JMI portal. You can list up to five course preferences. 2. **Document Upload:** Attach your three best merit or participation certificates.
