We use 5-minute rounds of live rolling to simulate tournament intensity and drill specific game plans based on actual IBJJF point systems. Whether you are prepping for your first tournament or just want to sharpen your reaction time, we train for results, not comfort. When I left the engineering world for the mats, I realized quickly that the only way to get better is to get on the mat and test yourself. My approach to BJJ is simple: I don't care about flashy moves if they don't work under pressure. We focus on high-percentage techniques—chokes, sweeps, and guard passes—that actually hold up in a live match. ### Why Train With Us? * **Real Competition Focus:** I am an active competitor, having won Gold at the Karnataka Open 2024 and medals at the SJJIF Nationals. I bring this current, real-world experience to every class. * **Structured Methodology:** We don't just 'roll'. Classes start with high-intensity animal movements and calisthenics, followed by step-by-step breakdown of submissions, and ending with positional resistance training. * **Gi & No-Gi:** We train for both scenarios. You will learn to navigate the traditional Gi grips and the faster-paced, wrestling-heavy No-Gi grappling. ### Where We Train I conduct classes at two locations in Bangalore: * **Sai MMA Academy (Hosa Road, E-City):** Our primary garage-style setup. Naturally ventilated for that high-sweat, real-fight feeling. We have heavy bags and space for drilling. * **The Dojo (HSR Layout):** A dedicated space for technique refinement and sparring. Whether you are a complete beginner looking to learn the basics or a 'mat rat' training for a tournament, the path is the same. You show up, you drill, you spar, and you get better. Avvalothan (That's it). ## About Jagapathi Babu I'm Babu. I don't teach hacks or shortcuts because they don't work when you are on the mat with someone trying to submit you. My classes are about building a solid foundation and testing it, whether you are just starting out or preparing for a national stage.
