## About The Grind: Hip-Hop Ain't Dead

If you're booking me for your venue, know that I hold a strict genre policy: I play strictly 90s/00s Hip-Hop, R&B, and Afro beats. I don't do commercial Bollywood or EDM, so we keep the sound completely urban. For the best experience, I require Pioneer CDJ 2000 NXS2 or 3000 decks provided on-site to handle my transitions properly.

### My Philosophy on The Grind

The Grind isn't just a playlist; it's a movement. I got tired of not hearing the real tracks in the city, so I created my own space to keep hip-hop culture alive. When I'm at the console, my goal is simple: if it hypes me up, it's going to hype the crowd. That means a mix of 90s nostalgia, golden-era hip-hop, and modern Afro beats to close out the night.

### How I Work

My sets are interactive and high-energy. I'm not the DJ who hides behind the laptop; I'm engaging with the dancefloor, and I usually bring my partner, MC Bobkat, to keep the energy levels high. We focus on reading the room, managing transitions between genre shifts, and making sure the vibe stays consistent from the first warm-up track to the final banger.

### Booking Options

- **Solo DJ Set:** Perfect for intimate venue nights where the music speaks for itself. Strictly old school hip-hop and R&B.
- **The Duo (DJ + MC):** This is where the magic happens. We bring in live rapping, freestyling over instrumental breaks, and direct crowd interaction.
- **The Takeover:** A full production package. This includes us, a special guest act (like a beatboxer or street dance crew), and full technical management. It is designed for high-profile parties or brand launches where you need the flow from warm-up to prime time handled seamlessly.

## About Ishani

I'm DJ Ishani. I grew up with 90s hip-hop and R&B, and I built my own scene because I couldn't find it anywhere else. On the decks, it's not just about spinning tracks; it's about the connection with the crowd and keeping that raw, underground energy alive.
